Princeton Beats Yale 32 to 22 in Yale-Princeton Tilt

Princeton defeated Yale 32 22 in the forty second Yale Princeton women’s basketball classic at Hales Gym. Verda seed led with 14 points, Gordon added 12 in the first half as Princeton climbed to the lead by the third quarter and held on.

Jamorama Orchestra Plans Amid Campus Production

More than thirty college musicians join the band to rehearse Jamorama with Eb Wood and Howard Bigelow leading new arrangements. A tentative concert at Finney Chapel on March 27 replaces the earlier scheduled date due to production delays and contract issues with the American Federation of Musicians.

Sophomore Banner Dance in Hales Gym Saturday Night

Sophomore class president Dittes will lead the Banner Dance from 8 to 12 pm in Hales Gymnasium. Music by the Dave Wayne band, decorations feature banners from former classes. A few tickets remain for sale Saturday morning in Peters Court, priced at one dollar eighty cents.

Nine Leaders View Library Art Positions

Nine women with humanities training will lead discussion groups during the Symposium on Occupations for Women the week of March 3. At 1:30 p.m. Ellen Ewing and Marjorie Merrill discuss Library Work at Pyle Inn, with Helen Adam and Phylis Basinger assisting. Ewing a Shaker Heights librarian and Oberlin alumna. Merrill a Library of Congress reference researcher. Journalism discussion at Dascomb follows, led by Gay Ries with Betty Egan. Claire MacMurray of the Cleveland Plain Dealer will speak. French House hosts an Art Teaching conference led by Mrs. Jacob Gruber with Martha Wakeland Jan Astier Shi ley Payne assisting. At Prenern House a Museum Work symposium at 3 p.m. features Robert M. Hornung of the Cleveland Museum of Art as visiting expert. Judy Bergstrom directs student leadership. Jane Klein, secretary. Merten hostess. Marge Graham and Thaleia cheronis head the remaining discussion group.

Religious Discussions Precede Conference

Bull sessions designed to arouse interest in the religious conference, March 11 and 12, will take place in all forms where sufficient interest is shown on March 8, 144 and 6, from 9 to 11 pm. Questions for the discussion pertain to the theme "Society's Challenge to Christianity," covering church social action, Christian ethics, and preparation for living with home, school and church.

Prudential Chooses Federal Hall for FPHA Project

The Prudential Committee officially christened the long-nameless dorm as Federal Hall. A twenty five dollar prize for best title was not awarded due to insufficient entries and lack of a suitable name. The winning name was deemed a direct steal from Gladys Swigart, with funds redirected to the CRD. Other suggestions included Throne Inn Eastervelt Hall Slab Hall The Castle and Vet eran Inn.

Committee Proposes Fund To Finance Class Dances

Stan Rostov reported on a committee plan to create a class dance fund funded by activity fees and surplus from dances, replacing current financing. The Student Council accepted the report and agreed to send a letter to Governor Kim Sigler of Michigan about campus free speech and association concerns following a discussion on witch hunts in colleges.

Hood Keynotes Second Session of Symposium

Rita Nasenen Miss Marguerite Hood assistant Professor of Music at the University of Michigan will discuss Opportunities for Women in the Field of Music at the noon chapel for the Women’s Symposium Monday. Miss Hood’s talk will keynote the second Symposium session which will be concerned with the topic of Humanities and Muse. Miss John Kennedy and Mrs. Jane de Altshuler will speak at Alcott at 1 30 pm on private piano teaching and theory. Mrs. Kennedy a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory is now with the Conservatory in the children’s department. Mrs. Altshuler who received her musical training in London and at Temple University has been on the faculty of music schools in Pennsylvania and has done private teaching in piano and musicianship classes. Alice Archibald will lead the session with M. J. Corry as student secretary. Jo Craig will be the tea dance formerly scheduled for tomorrow afternoon will be held instead on March 8 at Reo Hall featuring the Dave Wayne Band. Roses for Mrs. Kennedy and Janey Wilbur for Mrs. Altshuler. Helen Trish will be the student leader for the 3 o’clock meeting on Music Education at the Allen Art Building. Miss Alice E.
