Library Gains Burtons Gift of Many Volume Books
A large library gift arrived from Cleveland on Friday afternoon containing many valuable volumes on governmental issues including South America. Some works come from General Shurtleff's collection, part of ex-Senator Burton's extensive library, moved to his new home in New York. The shipment, about 200 books, arrived from Germany under a special permit after long delays due to British censorship.

Sioux singer Irene Eastman to lecture at Oberlin fundraiser
Miss Irene Eastman a Sioux performer will lecture and sing at Oberlin on Saturday March 3 under the Women's League for the Women's Building fund. Born Taluta Eastman daughter of Dr Charles A Eastman and Elaine Gooddale she wears native costume and offers songs of her tribe with a refined soprano voice. Her tours include over 50 talks in two years before schools and clubs. The program also features interpretive dancing and Indian folk tunes arranged by American composers to aid construction of the new building.

Ohio Wesleyan Names Wells Head of New Psychology Dept
Professor R Wells of the psychology department submitted his resignation as a college faculty member to become head of the newly created psychology department at Ohio Wesleyan. He began teaching in Berlin five years ago after earning a masters at Johns Hopkins in 1912 and was promoted to associate professor in 1913. The resignation has not yet been acted upon.

War Zone Lecture Topic to Be Presented in Chapel
John R. Rft delivered a monthly lecture on experiences in war zones in the chapel on Wednesday. The program includes three additional items and features a program of invitations and announcements from a Philadelphia company. About 1400 commencement invitations were ordered, with 550 for teachers and 850 in paper, plus 1090 announcements. Trustee Burns House Fire Destroys Winton Official Home
Henderson, trustee and vice-president of the Winton Motor company, owned a residence that burned to the ground early Monday. The fire, blamed on a short circuit in a telephone wire behind a partition, cost about 50000. Occupants smelled smoke at 8:30 and the lower door area was ablaze. A few furniture pieces were saved as flames consumed the house. the garage roof was flooded with garden water to divert the fire.
