Adults Return to Oberlin College in Growing Numbers

Trustees may decide on prez

The Board of Trustees meet at the Oberlin Inn tonight and tomorrow to select the college’s next president and discuss approving a three million dollar addition to the Allen Art Museum. Three major candidates are Dr. Robert Good, Ellsworth Carlson, and Emil Danenberg, with Green’s withdrawal shifting support to Good. The Development Office must raise $2,000 more, with overall funds still needing to be secured.

Campus drives push ERA through Illinois Missouri students

Two men Steve Ramirez and Greg Larsen lead a campus ERA campaign arguing the amendment benefits both genders by guaranteeing equal rights under the law. The Illinois Senate vote looms on March 4 as a college committee targets 160 students in Illinois and Missouri with letters and follow ups.

Fuller declines presidency for Oberlin College

Ex president Robert Fuller, interviewed by the Review, said the presidency at Oberlin is not a fit for now. He suggested deferring to ex-president Robert Carr due to seniority and noted his visit to Oberlin was kept secret among some students. He is currently in Kensington California looking at the San Francisco Bay with thoughts not in Oberlin.

Oberlin Student Honor Committee seeks new members

The Student Honor Committee at Oberlin invites applicants for the coming academic year. The group oversees the Honor System, clarifies the academic code, aims to minimize infractions, and evaluates system effectiveness while investigating alleged violations.

Government dept selects reps for interim committee

The Government department elected Matt Keartney and others to serve on an interim committee formed after the Government Majors Committee resignations.
