Kingdon and Gallup Named 1952 India Reps to Madura
Kingdon and Gallup are selected as 1952 India representatives to join Elders and Dudley at Madura Schools. They will sail this summer and return after 3-4 years of teaching, leading curricular activities in English, sports, music, and conversation at Oberlin in Madura. The program aims to advance international understanding and higher education opportunities for Indian students.

Oberlin Reps To India For Three Year Teaching Term
Oberlin College announces 1952 representatives to India for a three to four year teaching term under the Oberlin in Asia program. Mary Lehman says the new delegates join Dick Dudley and others in Madura for initial duties, with later study back at Oberlin to prepare for program expansion.
Oberlin Essay Contest Awards For Asian Theme
The Oberlin College and James K. NewtonJapanese Prize Fund awards fifty dollars for an essay on an Asian theme. Students must submit by April 1 to Prof Clarence Hamilton, with committee members Prof Osworth Carlson Bryant Tucker and P T Fens. The fund, begun in 1917 by the late Yejiro Ono, has 14 recipients. past winner was Mrs Moris Zel ditch. A copy of winning essays goes to Ono family while another is kept in the library. The Student China Committee plans a forum on China’s Communism with Harry Howes and Don Farley speaking. Gallup, a Ridgway native and English major, plans ministry after teaching in India and has been active in A Cappella and YMCA.
