Varsity Debates Bring Both Victory and Defeat
Wesleyan defeats Oberlin while the home team reduces the visitors to a 2-1 unanimous decision. The negative team argues the dangers of war and the Monroe Doctrine while praising work by Evans, Raymond, and Fovana. The Reserve team shows strong individual effort but weak team cohesion, as Oberlin’s Wotte counters the claim of war danger and supports a stronger force posture to deter conflict.
