Illness delays at Oberlin and model meetings at clubs

After a long illness Prof Geiser returns to his political science classes at Oberlin. Prof Curtis plans to join from Madison to work with the legislative veteran bureau. Women’s literary societies near Oberlin announce a January 11 model meeting in the Men’s building with alumnae guests and a five-society program including extempore speeches and a parliamentary drill. The annual Home Meeting of the W. V. A. was held Sunday evening with talks on home life and service, stressing kindness and thoughtfulness toward family members.

Dean Cole Pushes English Honors System for Oberlin Plan

Dean Cole advocates adopting a version of the Oxford honors system at Oberlin with pass and honors tracks. Baldwin and Cranford Win Fast House Games

Baldwin defeated Talcott 23 to 12 in the house basketball games on Monday with Davis starring for Baldwin. Cranford won over Kleinfelters. Lineups included Baldwin-Davis and Crawford-Patrs with Williams and Levinson as forwards.

Debating teams face fresh plan after Monday scrimmage

With two weeks until the varsity debate, a Monday morning scrimmage prompted Professors Stetson and Vaskey and Mr. Wilke to push a new debate plan. Stetson proposes starting correspondence with opposing teams to agree on interpretation. Wilkie, Indiana University graduate and former varsity member, offered several future-work suggestions. Caskey will continue critique tonight. The varsity debate is scheduled for January 3rd. Oberlin will host Wesleyan on the home floor.

Sical training class entertained at gym

The senior P.7 men and women were entertained Thursday evening by the women's physical training department faculty in the women's gymnasium. Much of the time was spent in folk dances and games including relay basketball and Indian war dances. Simple refreshments followed. Ottawa to speak on missionary work. Sam Higgenbottom, famed speaker and expert on industrial methods of missionary work in India, will speak in the Men’s building auditorium Friday at 4 30. All interested are invited. George Bennett Hatfield ’08, now a Harvard Divinity School graduate student, has been named a founder's scholarship recipient.

Inter-Society Debate Won by Alpha Zeta in Unanimous Decision

Alpha Zeta defeated Phi Kappa Pi in a unanimous inter-society debate held in the Men’s building at 7 o’clock. The proposition urged abolishing trial by jury in the United States. Judges were Professors Luis, Caskey and Jameson.
