Oberlin Selects Delegates for IUS Congress in Chicago
Oberlin College Student Council chose Kremarek and Copeland, seniors, from 15 candidates to represent at the International Union of Students Congress in Chicago December 28 to 30 during Christmas recess. The council will cover rail transport and delegates’ conference fees, while attendees cover personal expenses. Oberlin is allotted two delegates for the congress.

Train Schedules Re Established As Strike Ends
Transportation facilities have improved as trains resume pre strike schedules. Only the Empire State from Cleveland to Toledo remains not resumed. Special trains may be added as needed. Greyhound will renovate buses to major cities and Batra buses will be provided to handle crowds from Oberlin. About 400 students have registered their travel plans.

Dorm Heat Returns as Coal Supplies Remain Meagre
Dormitory heat measures ended after a brief coal shortage prompted by a strike. Lester Ries, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, says a four week program of restrictions reduced heating and lowered temperatures. He hopes this final measure ends the need, though coal supply is still insufficient and may run out by month’s end.

Medical Aptitude Test Application Deadline Notice
Those wishing to apply to take the Medical Aptitude Test scheduled for January 1 should make application to the Psychology department office in Peters Hall room 302 before December 27. All applicants to the 1947 freshman class in colleges of medicine are expected to present results of the test to medical schools. I nay send two observers who will have to take care of their own expenses for the three-day session, anyone wishing to attend the meetings as an observer is asked to get in touch with Jim Sunshine at Noah by noon December 14.

Navy announces December 7 start for nationwide competition
Navy opens registration for its nation wide competitive examination to select participants for a new college training program. Eligibility requires age 17 to 21 on July 1 1997. Children's Home drive seeks sled donations for Christmas
The Children's Home committee urges students to donate money for sleds to be given to children at Christmas. Each dorm has a donation box for any amount, while some students pay tuition and fees, buy books and uniforms, and provide a $600 annual living allowance. Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps students may be commissioned in the Navy or Marine Corps.
