Oberlin lectures denounce war by English peace leader

Rev. Leyton Richards spoke to Oberlin students on internationalism and a universal brotherhood, denouncing war and conscription. He urged nations to base ties on shared humanity rather than borders, language, or race, and noted sentences altered for antiwar acts. Rumor of Early School Dismissal Proved Groundless

Reports claimed a water shortage would force a weeklong early dismissal before Christmas. The faculty met last Tuesday and announced it was unnecessary to dismiss students early, despite rumors that several girls checked calendars and sent home joyous notes.

Seniors vote to abolish their pedigree in hi o hi

By a vote of about 98 to 15 the class of 1917 decreed that senior activities should not be listed after names in the Hi O Hi. The senior portraits will show name, home address and major. other details may come later as the HLO-Hit board decides.

Community rally on the mind of nation in Oberlin

Governor Malcolm Patterson of Tennessee will speak at Finney chapel next Sunday evening at 7. The event, part of a dry America campaign by the Anti saloon League, aims to rally students especially men. Mrs Richardson, state organization president, will also speak.

Program of Tchaikovsky music by Stokowski

A Philadelphia Orchestra concert conducted by Leopold Stokowski featured Olga Samaroff as soloist. The program centered on Tchaikovsky with the Fifth Symphony, the First Piano Concerto, and the Marche Slave, framed by an essay on Wagner Brahms and Tchaikovsky and their artistic quests.

Glee Club to Open Season With December Concert

The Glee club plans its first concert of the year at Chagrin Falls on Friday evening, December 8, under the junior class of Chagrin Falls High School with Ralph H. Farmer as principal. The trip and itinerary will be finalized about a week before departure. An informal winter gymnastics program opens next Monday with a daily gym class at 4:80 except Saturday, led by Instructor Kelter. average attendance last year was 20 men and no regular registration is required.
