UN S FIRST SENIOR 11S HELD SATURDAY PROM

The 1920 senior class held its first formal function under new rules in Dudley Peter Allen Memorial Art building. The grand march led by Student Childers opened to the central court and outdoor court. The event featured Hines orchestra with vocals by Demms Cons and harp numbers by Hermann Randal Cons. Geraldine Crawford and Leontine Wright danced in the final intermission. Patrons include Prof and Mrs C A Ti Adams, Prof and Mrs C W Morton, Mrs Ellen B Hatch, and others.

Scarlet Fever Quarantine on Local Rooming House

A quarantine on a rooming house at 147 West Lorain Street due to scarlet fever is reported by Health Officer Dr Everett. A detainee attempted escape but no other cases are reported in town. An officer and a fan joined a Saturday morning chase through nearby areas.

Oberlin Literary Magazine Appears Friday

The Oberlin Literary Magazine appeared Friday April 23 with a new department on humor and a page of clippings from various college papers. In a tale of wedding preparations and comic mischief, a senior troubleshooter’s attempt to fasten a trick necktie during a leap year wedding leads to repeated failures. The grand march is moved to Strats Emporium as attendants scramble to fix the knot. Pinny the bystander finally resolves the issue by placing the necktie in a bowl for the escort.

Copy in hands of printer by April 20 or May signing and printing delays. Officials report the 1921 year book will be ready for distribution by the end of May. Committee members seek information on timing while printers and engravers rush proofs for approval.

Literary Magazine Editor Elections Debated

A special meeting after chapel Friday reviewed changing how editors and business manager of the Literary Magazine are elected. An amendment would place selection in the hands of the Review Board and require ratification by both Student Senates before taking effect. Ratification expected late this week with election of officers soon after.
