Oberlin Art Student Wins Silver Cup in Photo Contest
Warren R. Laity, a post graduate art student at Oberlin, won the Silver Cup in the Marek photography contest for a portrait titled The Loreta Madonna. His image, created from a painting, earned top honors in a publication condensed to an international scope. Laity, a wartime veteran and seasoned photographer, plans to print the image in the magazine's June issue after arriving at Oberlin last September for a Master’s in art.

I S Benefit Performance Tells At Oberlin Hall
An Oberlin School alum and students staged a benefit at Warner Hall to raise funds for a new athletic building. Proceeds totaling about 6000 dollars will support the athlete fund and future gymnasia. Plans for the new school structure, including a gym, are under consideration for this summer, per H J Rawton, superintendent.
