Demy Prospects In Baseball At Oberlin Academy

Five of last year’s squad return as coach notes a roster likely to exceed thirty with candidates for every position. Names like Moore Hamilton Mundy Jane Gray, Maize Weltzman and Putman compete for pitching and batting spots. Parade Route Announced for City Celebration

The route of the big parade is announced for the afternoon spectacle. The band and participants will meet at 1:00 p.m. and proceed north on Main, west on Lorain, south on Professor to Vine, east on Fine to Main, then north to College, finishing west to the civic tent. Officials warn limited seating may require early attendance.

Wesleyan and Reserve Yield in to Oberlin Debates Continue

Caskey reports that Wesleyan and Reserve will stick to the old method of debate rather than splitting the league. Wesleyan’s word is final, while Reserve’s statement comes from a faculty member in favor of continued debate. The association will decide on the issue, but it appears regular debates will occur next year. Objections focus on who will choose sides this year.

Oberlin Varsity Baseball Candidates Open Outdoor Practice

About twenty two candidates reported for Oberlin baseball practice at Athletic Park under Coach Gray. Returning veterans include Dutch Thrower Keller Colmery and Young, with Henderson Bradley Miller the only 1919 loss. Clarke Nilson handle catching while Wasson returns to mound, and Pyle Haas vie for outfield duties. Several players contest every position as the squad shapes into a strong unit for a promising season. The Varsity schedule is set and looks competitive. Faculty adopts special Phi Beta Kappa ruling change

Oberlin Athletic Field Plans Underway Amid Dismantled Landmarks

New athletic field plans for Oberlin progress as old field landmarks vanish. Fences along East and North sides are torn, remaining outhouse posts mark the gridiron. West side bleachers are torn, planks mark North and East bleacher sites. Construction follows the pace of the old stands with planks hauled away and a new sewer line routed toward North Professor Street.
