DOUBLE HANGING AT ST PAUL FOR LINNOTH MURDER

Two youths Charles Ermisch and Otto Wonigkeit were hanged at Ramsey county jail in St Paul between 5 and 6 am for the murder of bartender William Lindhott during a botched robbery. The escape attempt by Ermisch injured Deputy Horst. Wonigkeit showed remorse, and Governor Nelson allowed the execution after arresting events.

Mob-lynching attempt at Washington Court House court

William Dolby colored man captured at Delaware and brought to Sp. ur court after pleading guilty to assaulting Mrs Boyd. A mob surrounded the jail and courthouse Tuesday seeking Dolby’s release. Militia and troops repelled the attack. several shot dead or wounded in the street. Additional troops ordered from Cincinnati Columbus and Chillicothe.
