Pittsburg June 16 Rev Father Mollinger famed faith cure priest died at 2 p m after a surgical operation. His church at Troy Hill drew thousands seeking cures on St Anthony day and his death sent shock through the faithful with many praying for his recovery. He was born to Dutch parents, recently turned 62, and led the Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus for years and was known as a capable physician as well as a healer. The scene around the church became highly excited as word spread of his passing.
A collapse on the Newport Covington iron bridge over the Licking River near Covington Ky kills and injures scores of workers. Baird Brothers of Pittsburgh built the doomed traveler and iron truss. 68 were on site and many bodies are unrecovered. Charles Wilkerson of Louisville is hailed a hero for rescue and diving.
Baltimore June 16 The Evening News says a leading Republican received a letter from President Harrison praising Gen Felix Angus for four years of service and indicating Tracy would lead the State Department Elkins would head the Navy and Angus would become Secretary of War in the forthcoming cabinet changes.
