Evansville Ind June 6 News reports a wreck on the Owensboro & Nashville railway near South Carroll Kentucky at about 9 00 am Sunday. A colored excursion train with three cars and a baggage car collided with the northbound passenger train killing four and injuring twenty six mostly excursionists. The crash followed an order violation by Engineer Fahey at Stroud station. Both engines were demolished and reports stir speculation about casualties.
A farmer named Lowe aged 45 and his two sons aged 11 and 13 drowned Saturday afternoon after their boat was carried over Bender's milldam on the Milwaukee river six miles north of Milwaukee. The trio were fishing when the current overwhelmed them and the father and sons clung to him before disappearing.
