M T Goodman now general agent for Chicago Portland Cement Co servicing Cicero Proviso Joliet. Jas Kearney’s hand injury from coupling cars will not require amputation. Kirk Bros Brewing Co removed furniture from 48th and 29th streets building. Nic Willems out of business. Ed Davis returns from La Crosse funeral of Mrs Davis’ father Patrick Brady. Pentecost services at St Charles Court W, C70 Hawthorne. Twelve new members planned June 18 at 2 pm. open meeting at auditorium. Fire alarm unrelated race track incident May 29 shows Hawthorne fire daddies in sharp action. June 6 lawn party for St Dionysius church fund. 2 pm, followed by school drama at auditorium hall 8 pm with plays The Dutch Justice and The Devil in a Saarkraut Barred, My Aunt’s The Press performed by girls, and extensive program including prizes, music, and weather committee led by W W Carnes.

Salvation and town activities fill Clyde church notes

The Clyde area reports prayer efforts by salvation cohorts at Mo s Church and updates on local residents health and travel. Rev. W. S. Stranahan’s mother plans to return from Wyanseton soon, while Mrs. HH Holland slowly improves and may visit a Michigan sanitarium. J M. Oras was hospitalised after an injury on the CL BB Q line. The School District No. 5 board sits dormant due to Dr. Mac Neal’s illness, with business meetings and church activities recalled. The Ladies Aid and Christian Endeavors hold gatherings. a Clyde Union club meeting paves the way for a July 4 celebration to fund a new clubhouse, with an organizing committee named. John McKenzie, previously seeking health in the southwest, died at his Garfield avenue home. The Clyde Union club appoints arrangements and subcommittees for tents, purc, speakers, and refreshments for the upcoming event.

Unity Study club ends season with German program at Oak Park

The Unity Study club of Oak Park held its final meeting at Mr and Mrs Ripley’s home at 414 Maple Avenue last Wednesday. Members presented a German program led by Bernhard Orann and Capt Borneman, with songs, dialogues, scenes, recitations, and a chorus. A letter from Mr Orann was read, and thanks were given to the instructors. The group planned an early fall gathering at Unity Church.

Young Men Bible Study Union reorganized at First Baptist

Community groups report renewed religious activity in Austin and Oak Park. The Young Men's Bible Study union at First Baptist reorganizes with a president and officers, planning weekly 12 15 p m Sunday sessions using maps to illuminate ancient world topics. Other faith groups note missions meetings and new youth leagues following revival events and church gatherings.

Crowded Baptist Church Event Draws Pennies Gift

A June 1 program at the Baptist church on Wisconsin avenue featured a refined literary and musical program. Guest bags held pennies, one containing over $15, contributing to an estimated total of about $160. The event was praised as a fine church social.
