Nutley Public Schools will open the Fall term on Tuesday the 6th. Nutley voters hold a key meeting at Connolly Hall. Residents return from trips to Newark Europe Lake Hopatcong Trenton and Ocean Grove. Local officials and church leaders announce upcoming events and services.
Nutley Republican Club in First Ward hosts a rally at its open meeting with Orga H Van Riper presiding. George Russell of Newark addresses the crowd as a likely Essex Surrogate candidate, praising county finances and Republican strength. W H Parry and A M McGowan speak on campaign issues and party organization.
Nutley Lodge No 167 F and A M regular meeting to be held Monday at Masonic Hall. Important transactions and business will be discussed. members urged to attend in this jurisdiction.
At a recent meeting the Republican committee adopted a resolution endorsing Freeholder Th for renomination, noting he has held the office for years.

Nutley A C foot ball players plan to start the season, inviting hopefuls to Town Hall on September 6 to join, elect a captain and learn signals. The team, claiming strong showings since 1895, aims for the 110 pound state title and possible indoor Madison Square Garden appearance if a high win rate is achieved.
Labor Day marks the Fortieth eighth annual Scottish games of the New York Caledonian Club at Washington Park and Casino Maspers L1. A Scotch reel opens at ten o clock and the event draws large crowds, with as many as 40000 attendees once at Jones Woods. Chief William G Reed hopes for strong turnout showing loyalty to auld Scotia. Numerous neighboring city organizations are expected in national costume, with two bands and the club’s pipes providing music.
Mr J B Doyle of Passaic avenue and Chestnut street has sold his Passaic city Nuéley partnership and will devote himself entirely to Nutley tailoring. He plans a larger stock of fabrics for ladies and gentlemen and to personally serve Nutley customers.
The Town Council adjourned after debating extensions for water mains on Centre Street and Colonial Terrace, and provisions for electric lighting on High and Centre streets. Budget plans, bids for mains, and tax implications were discussed, with no major changes likely to the overall levy.
Supervising Deputy Ackerman will visit Roseville Council on Thursday evening September 8 leaving West Nutley at 7.55 with many council members. Grand Regent Washburne will attend the meeting for an initiation service. Members should submit class initiation applications for Kempton Council by September 26. Orator’s season program will be released soon.
Nutley plans a Labor Day doubleheader with morning game against New ark B.B.C. and an afternoon clash versus Columbia A. C. Nutley lineup features Hawkins, F Jamison, Diven, Latamond, Sere, Stager, Sikipson, Rusby and others. The team recently defeated Yatter club in a prior match on Park grounds and expects a strong test from Manhattan of Passaic.
