The Nutley bond drive surpasses 600000 as committee members hope to reach 700000 with last minute subscriptions. Early totals showed 350000 against a 167000 quota, and current figures indicate steady backing from Nutley residents, banks, and out of town contributors in small and moderate amounts.
The Secretary of the Treasury announced plans to issue a circular detailing how Liberty Bonds may be converted into new issues. The document will explain the process and eligibility for holders who wish to convert during the tenure and payment terms set by the government.
The Nutley Chapter of the American Red Cross aims to provide five hundred Christmas packages for soldiers at the front. Benefit events have been arranged for December 20 at the Went Center. Mr. B. Taylor serves as chairman.
