RY School Plot Put Before Voters for New Building

The board approves Clark tract on Washington Ave Walnut St and Avondale Rd and posts notices for a special meeting Tuesday night October 49 to seek voter approval of spending 10000 on land and bonds to cover the cost. Mrs Clark agreed to the price and the board has an option on the property in the eastern town section.

Postal Registered Mail Fee Change Announced

Postal authorities inform Superintendent Chase that registered mail costs rise to ten cents per piece plus regular postage. Indemnity for loss increases to fifty dollars. The new rates take effect on November 1.

Auxiliary Starts Season At Park School

The Woman's Public School Auxiliary held its first regular meeting of the school year at Park School. Plans for the year included enlarging the Park School Library and an November lecture by Miss Mabel J. Chase on Japanese Act. The Penny Provident Fund opens next week under Mrs A B Proal. The Park School branch debuts on the 13th with deposits at Yantacaw and Passaic Avenue Schools.

Kempton Council to Host Arnold as Guest of Honor

At the regular Kempton Council meeting on Monday evening the 11th, Vice-Grand Regent Arnold of Princeton will speak. Mercer County superintendent of schools. The Degree Team plans to initiate two candidates. The Kempton social season opens on the 24th at the Fortnightly Club House with an entertainment and dance. John Howlings of Kempton will assist.

Fortnightly Club Opens Winter Season Clubhouse Dance

Funeral for John C Hickey of Franklin Avenue

John C Hickey of Franklin Avenue died after drinking carbolic acid in Branch Brook Park Newark and dying later at Newark City Hospital. Funeral will be from his late residence with services by Rev Goddard of Passaic Congregational Church. Pallbearers named. Interment Vincent Methodist Episcopal Cemetery. Hickey, once nervous and with poor circulation, left letters explaining his act and a savings balance. His widow is Mrs Hickey formerly Mrs Milton Young longtime Nutley resident.
