Nutley Town Council schedules a public meeting October 30 1916 in Town Hall to discuss participation in the Passaic Valley Trunk Sewer project. A legal opinion warns the contract may expose Nutley to higher costs and advises expert sanitary engineering input before final decisions.

Town of Nutley adopts December 14 1910 resolution to hire Frank T Shepard and Edward S Hankin for twelve hundred dollars to prepare a topographical map and full report on sewerage collection disposal and relation to the proposed Passaic Valley Trunk Sewer with data papers specifications and guidance to place bids for a local sewer system, due by March 1 191.
