Factory Blaze Destroys Passaic Avenue Plant

A fire on Monday razed the De Flag Grating Manufacturing Co plant on Passaic avenue and Kingsland street leaving only ashes. The firm, making harmless fireworks, suffered about 3000 dollars in losses as the Nutley department could only apply chemicals since hydrants were outside town limits and no insurance was carried. The building, a few years old, was tied to the Alumetal Co of Newark whose failed plans and a vanished secret formula led to lawsuits and the company's dissolution.
