Royal Arcanum Day Observed With Flag Display
On June 23 the twenty seventh anniversary of the Royal Arcanum will be observed. The order is said to have more than 20 000 members in this state with nearly 200 attached to Kempton Council. Grand Regent Washburne asks all members to display an American flag from home or business rain or shine per Regent Ackerman.

Death of Miss Hanna at 24 in Highfield land
Miss Mabel A. Hanna daughter of Mrs. Charles Ira Smith of Highfield land and sister of Mr. Edward Hanna died last week from pneumonia at age 24. Funeral was held Sunday at her mother's home and the interment was at Rye. Kempton Council passed condolences to Mr. Hanna on his sister's death.

A 15 year old girl LouiseEhling was aboard the General Slocum when the steamboat burned and sank near Nutley avenue and River Road. She jumped overboard with her baby in arms as panic rose and was rescued by a nearby boat and taken to a hospital. Independence Day will be the next holiday.
