In Town Hall two traveling salesmen arrested for selling without a license were fined 1.50 previously and let off by Recorder Day. They refused to pay, had their horse and wagon seized and held in Stirrat's stables. After appeals and threats of suit, Chairman Kierstead refused to rescind the fine and helped settle the matter when $1.37 was offered as compromise and the outfit was redeemed.
