The General Staff of the local suffrage group met at Mrs. Arthur B. Proal’s home in Edgewood Avenue to map a vigorous fall campaign. Plans include a campaign start on September 16, a September 15 luncheon to raise funds, a central headquarters, nightly meetings, and an October 8 suffrage ball at Town Hall with booths and speeches.

Edward Gardner and Kalman Lip, both of New Jersey addresses, faced charges after allegedly aiding an attempted theft from Louis Smithski at 127 Franklin Avenue. Nutley Day at the Seashore Tragedy Marred Outing
A Nutley Nutley Day at the Seashore excursion ended in tragedy when Mrs Libbie A Post 57 died from acute indigestion and exhaustion after boarding a trolley to return home from the beach. She was accompanied by her husband Aaron Post and two of Alfred Yosts children while Mrs Dayton Kierstead was nearby. Funeral services will be held at her home with Rev Chester J Hoyt and burial in Passaic Avenue Methodist Cemetery. The outing drew nearly 1000 Nutley residents and others despite train schedule mix ups caused by railroad staff.

In Prospect Heights, Chanceman Charlie Gillman halted Charles F. Gorman, alias Charles Eysoldt, who had chased through lawns and yards while Newark detectives pursued. Gillman pinned Gorman with a garden hoe near Cooyman Avenue, ending a car theft case tied to a Stutz car stolen May 31 from Newark and traced to Dr F. J. Farrington’s Franklin Avenue garage.
