Large Italian Funeral For Luigi Ferrara in Lyndhurst

The funeral of Luigi Ferrara aged 59 of Washington avenue was held Monday at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Francis A. Foy officiating. Survived by a widow and three sons, including James Ferrara who runs a hotel near the Big Tree. The procession moved through Centre street to Lyndhurst Passaic river area stopping at Chestnut, Passaic, and Avondale Bridge before burial in Lyndhurst Catholic Cemetery. A carriage line numbered thirty to forty, with several hundred attendees.

Holy Name Society to Observe Feast in Newark Churches

The Holy Name Society of St Mary’s Church Nuiley plans a Sunday observance with all diocesan Catholic Churches in Newark. A communion in a body will be followed by a reception into the society and a sermon by Rev Walsh D D. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will conclude the exercises.

Public School Library Opens Afternoons at Park Campus

Library notes show the public school library at the park is open weekdays from 3 to 5 pm except Saturdays Sundays and holidays. Rev James A Fairley former pastor will preach at both morning and evening services at St Pauls Congregational Church. All former and present members urged to attend. Bible School at 345 am Young Peoples Society of Christian Service at 7 pm Mid week service Wednesday at 9 pm. Tennyson Literary Society held a UJS Night at Mr F Gowers Hillside Avenue residence with patriotic program of papers songs and recitations.
