Town Council Discusses Poles and Water Matters
All council members except Councilman Young attended the Wednesday meeting. The secretary of the Board of Assessment was asked to provide the law defining duties. The Water Clerk reported receipts of 1713.20 for the past quarter and 3976.38 for two weeks. Funeral of Miss Kate Brown Held at Local Church
Funeral services for Miss Kate Brown were conducted Tuesday at the Methodist Episcopal Church. Five former pastors joined in eulogizing her life, with additional remarks from current pastor Rev Elbert Clement and others. A memorial service is planned at the Methodist Church next Sunday evening January 24.

Trolley Car Collision Kills Horse and Wrecks Cutter
A trolley car and horse and sleigh collided on Washington Avenue near Centre Street last Saturday evening. The horse and cutter were killed and the thiefs fled after stealing purchases from Nelson R. Fletcher of Upper Montclair. Fletcher reported the theft to Newark police and found his cutter and horse dead near the tracks. The thieves, said to be intoxicated, drove in front of the car before fleeing.

Dog Warden Issues Licenses and Tags in City
The dog warden has issued many licenses and tags daily from chestnut street near the bridge. County Collector R W Booth received the first license and tag No 1. Dogs that fell into his hands were destroyed as the warden sought owners. Josian De Pienza at Water avenue is confined with a severe cold.
