Merry Masqueraders at Fortnightly Club Washington Birthday Ball
The Fortnightly Club held its annual masquerade on Washingtons Birthday to a large audience from Nutley New Jersey Newark Montclair and other towns. Costumes were varied and creative with Prince Charming dancing with Sis Hopkins and Happy Hooligan with a Court Lady. Dancing continued late as revelers uncovered identities and a midnight collation was served before more dancing into the small hours.

Town Council Abandons Hall Purchase Plan
At a special meeting on February 19 the Town Council decided to take no action on acquiring Town Hall to convert it into a municipal building. The council stated that in the future the town will buy land and erect a suitable building.
Clements and Archer Wed at St Pauls Church
