Trolley Collisions Cause Injuries and Delays
Tuesday evening a wagon at Passaic avenue and Center street was struck by a trolley, dislocating the driver’s shoulder and smashing the wagon. Wednesday a Seater trolley hit a wagon carrying iron girders near the Nutley line. beams extended into the car, injuring the motorman who was taken to Paterson hospital. One horse was killed and three wagon men were uninjured.

Town’s iron box enforces dog licensing with fatal results
R Watson Harris the dog warden reports the first dog killed in the town iron box was a poy followed by a fox terrier. Both died within half a minute of placement. He intends to enforce the law rigidly and holds owners responsible for unlicensed dogs.

Silverware Recovered in Nutley Church Theft Case
William McIntosh, arrested in Elizabeth, is handed to Essex authorities to answer charges of robbing Nutley Methodist church on February 1 1903. He allegedly acted with George Fiord, who is held in Elizabeth as a suspicious person. Silverware and church belongings were stolen from the lecture room after a festival. boxes were smashed and a window forced. The loot, later sold in a Passaic restaurant, was returned after identification by Jennie Brown of the Ladies Aid Society.

First Essex Poll Tax Arrest Under New Law
Ray H. Parkhurst of East Orange was arrested by Constable Albert Howe Saturday for not paying poll tax. They traveled to Newark County Jail after Parkhurst failed to settle the tax bill, and Parkhurst later paid Howe 5.50 before returning to East Orange.
