Former Nutley Man Dies in Cleveland
Ethan Frost Bassford longtime Nutley resident died Sunday in Cleveland after collapsing on the street and passing away at the Statler Hotel. He had lived in Newark’s Roseville area for three years and worked as a salesman for George La Monte & Son on a company trip. Funeral services were held at St Barnabas Church in Newark. Surviving are two daughters and three sons. Bassford was active in Nutley in his earlier days, including editorship of The Nutley Review and charter member of the fire department.
