A string of social notes reports Miss Beatrice Helmley of Natley Avenue sailing today for Cuba to spend the winter. Others host and visit relatives in New York Newark Princeton and Brooklyn while local clubs meet and plan events this week.
Dr. William C. Parry of Hainesport, father of former Recorder William H. Parry, died at his home Tuesday morning after poleuro pneumonia. Born May 17, 1849 in Warminster, Pa, he was Jefferson Medical College Class of 1872 graduate and former State Senator elected in 1895. Known as the farmer's friend, he supported agriculture and served as Friends member and Burlington County Medical Society leader. He leaves a daughter and a son.
The Grace Church ladies host a two day fair in the Parish House on December 7 and 8 with multiple tables including fancy and gift items plus a candy table and lemonade well. A second night supper runs 5 30 to 8 00 p.m. Impromptu charades by local gentlemen and an entertainment on the first night support the church building fund.
The library opens every afternoon from 1 to 4 except Sundays and legal holidays. It also remains open Monday Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 7 30 to 9 o'clock until further notice.
Proctor's Park Place theater opens with Clayton Waite Marie in a new humorous sketch plus The Big City Four and Hibbard and Warren in a varied vaudeville program starting Monday December 4. Garrick Theatre in New York features William H. Crane in The Senator Keeps House with a strong company and positive notices.
A large Thanksgiving basket was delivered to Nutley's Police Headquarters on Wednesday night. Miss Annie L. Van Winkle funded the donation to feed the officers during the long night before Thanksgiving Day. Each member received a generous portion from the basket.
Burglars entered the Grntting home on Prospect Street late Friday night and began ransacking, but were scared away when an upstairs maid Miss Mary Higgins switched on the electric light. Silverware and cut glass valued at several hundred dollars were within reach and partially packed for removal.
A religious census conducted last Saturday was not tabulated due to hesitation by a committee member in charge. The delay stems from apparent reluctance to proceed with the result tally.
Miss Amelia M. Lawrence of 14 John Street and Alexander S. Fife of 15 William Street were married at the bride’s home Wednesday night by Rev. J. P. Bate of Newark.
Carl Weisemann and Miss Margaret Liotard of Brooklyn will give an organ recital at St Pauls Congregational Church on Tuesday night December 12. The event promotes an organ revital and invites community attendance.
Miss Marjory Moxley of High Street entertained the Anglers' Club of New York at her residence on Wednesday night. Guests included Miss Wilhemina Haberle of Atwood and others with dancing music and a collation following.

Sperling of Newark confessed to robberies in the Bronx after breaking into the home of Mrs E A Dodd on Brookfield Avenue. He received a five year jail term in New York on Thursday.

A dispute over a balk near the goal line led to a ruling by a Belleville referee contested by Umpire Chandler. The Nutley team continued play under protest. In the afternoon Nutley Brigade and Panther & CL Newark also tied 0 0.
The Ladies Missionary Society of St. Pauls Congregational holds its annual meeting at Hillside Avenue on Wednesday afternoon at two o clock. Thomas Clements to preside.
