Nutley Triumphs Over Belleville in Five-Run Fifth

Nutley defeated Belleville five runs in the fifth inning on the park grounds. Carney Blum pitched well and drove in two runs with a clutch hit. Belleville threatened in the ninth but Nutley closed out the game as left on base totaled were Nutley 11 and Belleville 6.

Permit to Rebuild Burned Factory Refused

The Build ing Committee and the Fire Chief refused F Wolf permission to rebuild the Franklin avenue factory used for making snarklers after a recent fire. Wolf argued he did not manufacture fireworks and that his goods were not explosive, but the committee ruled the goods were fireworks and subject to the ordinance requiring a 500 foot distance from other structures.

Delegates to the State Firemen's Relief Association were elected at Nutley Relief Association meeting held at Yantacan Engine Company rooms Thursday night. Livestock Destroyed In Fire At Delawanna Barn

A barn owned by De Witt C. Dunn near Paterson avenue Delawanna burned early Thursday. Two horses two cows and a calf died and five tons of hay were destroyed. The fire started in the hay loft with possible causes including spontaneous combustion. Dunn had no insurance. Nutley fire chief Stager declined to respond due to lack of city water in Delawanna but offered help if feasible.

Will prosecute priest who ignored new law in Passaic

Registrar George L Great received complaints to prosecute Rev Louis Darderi for officiating a July 17 marriage without a license. Darderi, once priest of an Italian church in Passaic, was expelled by Bishop O Connor and the Attorney General has ruled he cannot perform marriages, voiding the ceremony for Miss Florence Pale of Nutley and her fiancé.
