Parish Bishop O Connor announced Rev Edward F Quik assistant rector of St Joseph's Newark and fire department chaplain will become Tertorshipary’s Church leader succeeding the late Rev William L Cunningham. Quik, a Summit native born 1877, studied at St Peresa's and St Francis Xavier College New York and Seton Hall University graduating 1899. He was ordained June 6 1903 and has served at St Joseph's since then.

Max Brenner of 2902 West Seventeenth Street Coney Island is in St Mary's Hospital in serious condition after being beaten and robbed of about 1700 by three armed bandits who abducted him from Kingsland Street and Washington Avenue.
