Nutley residents plan Hartford visits and European sailings while local clubs host dances and events. The Fortnightly Juniors form, Elks lodge eyed, and Crystal Camph touted as a math destroyer as residents attend meetings, exhibitions, and charity happenings.
The Nutley A C Base Ball Club will play its first game this afternoon at 2 o'clock against Commonwealth Base Ball Clubs Upper Montclair. A good turnout is urged to send off the team for their initial game. The lineup includes Hawkins as catcher Joiger pitcher Young first base B Blum second base C G Blum third base S Blum shortstop S Blum left field Mitchel center field Bishop right field. A game is scheduled for next Saturday on the Park Grounds.
The Friday Afternoeddo Club met with Mrs J Guthwaite on April 12. Mrs William J Kinslep read a paper to Nature Writers. Members gave quotations. Next meeting set for April 26 at Mrs BE Humphrey on Prospect street.
A congressional commission examining Post Office accounting hires Delous Pend er Griffiths Co and Jones Caesar Dickenson Wilmot Co to conduct an expert review. Travers F White of Nutley will actively participate in the investigation and propose practical improvements to accounting methods.
The adjourned Town Council session grants Robert M Boyd permission to lay a drain along Chestnut street from the cellar to near the post office under town supervision. Curbing repairs on St Marys place are discussed and scaffolded. Sidewalk width disputes lead to a reversion to the Town Engineer for a future report.
The Entre Nous Whist Club met at Miss Fannie Banta's 60 Centre Street residence Monday evening. Ladies prizes went to Miss Bertha Blum for imported hose and Miss Clara Kirkeby for a copy of Janice Meredith. Gentleman prizes went to Mr. Joe Blum for a rose repair and Mr. George Blackwell for a copy of Down the Trail.
The Rev. Wao Stuart preaches at 9:00 AM on Sunday with the sermon Lead Me Guide Me and 7:46 PM Tombs or Homes. Sunday School and Bible Class at 9:46 AM. Sons and Daughters of the King meet at 7:16 PM. Prayer Meeting Wednesday at 8:00 PM.
On Sunday the pastor Rev. J. O. Winner will preach at both services at 11 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Classes meet at 9:30 a.m. Sunday School at 4:45 a.m. Epworth League vesper at 7 p.m. General Prayer Meeting Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The Kempton Council, Royal Arcanum, will hold a regular meeting at Masotle Halon on Monday evening April 22. Supervising Deputy Biermas will present a silver gavel for record membership gains and a Grand Council flag for twenty five or more initiates in the last year. An orator will headline an entertainment program while Thursday social events are suspended until fall. Nutley members are invited to attend.
