Bond Issue of 160000 Authorized by Board of Commissioners
A $160 000 bond issue, largest yet floated, was approved Monday night by the Board of Commissioners. The 160 bonds of $1 000 each carry 5 percent interest for 30 years to fund notes against the town held by the Bank of Notay. The meeting also approved a $21 489.54 loan for the Passaic Valley Trank Sewer and discussed water mains projects on Essex Street and Franklin Avenue and a sanitary sewer on Washington Avenue with bids from multiple firms. Boundary adjustments were made to ward lines to ease voting and Patrolman William Johnson’s trial was postponed.
