William F. Dittig longtime Nutley grocer councilman and school board member died at his Hackettstown home after years of ill health. He served as vice chairman of the Nutley Council and as director and vice president of the Bank of Nutley. He is survived by his widow Fannie Broka Dittig and six children. The Bank draped its building in his memory and issued a mourning resolution.

Randolph W. Shefler Jr. of Nutley Terrace lies in a Montreal hospital with a broken hip after a stone delivery accident. He designed stonework in a building there and was pinned by a snow laden dray. An X-ray showed the fracture and he later contracted scarlet fever.
