Cleveland UPI reports a hearing on Central State University finances recommending a seven point program to straighten tangled fiscal operations after a state auditor’s report said the school was 1.6 million dollars in the red.
A light plane crashed into Chesapeake Bay off Deale Maryland. Capt James R Griffin about 35 was identified among three missing officers. Griffin was the son of Howard and Mrs Griffin of Lakeland Hills near Pataskala Ohio.
Evangelist Billy Graham’s planned 10 day Houston visit was extended by a week as he recovers from a prostate operation. His itinerary now accommodates a slower pace while doctors monitor progress.
Police in Wichita Falls Texas sought a sixth man in connection with a goof ball ring after a raid at three truck stops Thursday night.
In La Jolla California UPI reports Tuffy the Dolphin earned a sea rescue diploma by locating a lost aquanaut in an underwater hide and seek drill. The dolphin completed seven dives carrying messages to aquanauts at 205 feet in the Pacific.

U S authorities probe charges that U S plans accidentally bombed a South Vietnamese police post in the DMZ killing at least 27 and wounding 33. The incident follows reports of prior DMZ violations as paratroopers of the 101st Airborne engage in heavy fighting in the Con River Valley near An Khe with air support from jets and helicopters.
Warm sunny weather drew the largest attendance of the year to the Huron County Fair on Friday. A Norwalk man, Lawrence Burkett, 31, was injured when a parachute ride at the Huron County Fair broke and the car dropped to a boarding ramp trapping his left leg. His 13 year old daughter, Gwendolyn, was upset but not believed injured. Sheriff ordered the ride closed and investigation noted a cast iron support pipe broke.
United Nations Security Council debated sanctions that could include military action as Red China threatens to intervene in Kashmir. India accuses Pakistan of starting the war with China in mind while diplomats weigh whether Beijing's stance is bluff or real. Pakistan expected to be represented by Law Minister S. M. Safar.
The Indians board of directors announced no plans to move, confirming the Cleveland lease on the stadium remains in place.
