The state patrol logged several traffic incidents around Norwalk and New London. Carl L. Eaton, 25, was charged with failure to yield after colliding with George R. Hunt, 20, at Butler and Fayette Roads. Betty J. Lynch, 26, of Norwalk, was cited for failure to yield after a crash at Monroe and Wooster Streets. Numerous other minor incidents involved parked cars, loss of control, and drivers charged with right of way violations.
Robert Rice was sworn in to fill the remainder of Richard Flint’s term after his resignation. Rice, one of four candidates for three board seats in November, joins South Central as enrollment declines from 1,198 to 1,162. The board also approved Snyder to coach cross country, Zoz to coach golf, a substitute teacher list, and transport for a deaf child to Mansfield School for the Deaf.
