Norwalk woman Mrs Richard E Becker won a Grand Award at the Ohio State Fair for a bread dough Abraham Lincoln doll plus a chair table and Lincoln attire. She earned 12 dollars total from 9 000 entries, and credits months of work and research for the win.
Tonight carries Carry On Discussion Club with Mrs Louis Lobenthal at 8. Eagles Auxiliary meets at Eagles Hall also at 8. TOPS OH 344 meets St Paul Episcopal Parish House at 8. Tuesday events include Firelands Senior Center Social Afternoon at St Paul Episcopal Parish House 1 to 4 pm Opportunity Club led by Glada Robinson at 1 pm Milan Garden Club with Mrs Jesse Hite at 1 15 pm Elks Bridge at Country Club 7 30 Shoestring Players at Huron County Bank Building 7 30 Wakeman Grange No 1399 Grange Hall at 8 30 pm.
The Wide Awake Club met at president Mrs. Forrest Motter of New London with hostess Mrs. Kent Southard. Reported on the Farm Women's Federation meeting in Norwalk. A county federation gathering is planned for Oct. 2 at Olena. Oct. 9 meeting set for Mrs. Clifford Smith in Norwalk.
The Lay Witness Mission will be held September 26 to 28 at East Milan Friends Church Ohio 113 East of Milan. Russell McPherson of Cleveland will coordinate the event with laymen from Ohio Michigan and Pennsylvania sharing testimonies. An open invitation includes a dinner at 6 30 p m on Friday and the lay witness team will present faith experiences during sessions.
