Norwalk businessmen contributed 100 each to avert the chamber's collapse by September. The group aims for a 3000 target and plans the first Huron County Industrial Exposition opening September 22 at the Armory.

Blatt of Norwalk apply for marriage license. Birth announcements list three girls to Hartgrove, Schlebach, and Estep families. Deaths: Fred Ackerman, 92, and Dr. Dean Sheldon.
One hundred twenty five pints of blood are needed to meet the Norwalk quota for the blood mobile visit at First United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Oscar Komarek, blood program chair, says achieving the quota ensures a local and nationwide blood supply. The drive runs 11 30 a m to 5 30 p m.
Two Soviet fighter jets violated Western air space over MOENCHEN GLADBACH on September 2 to harass a West German civilian plane. A British statement said the East German commander in chief refused to apologize or explain. British jets scrambled and the Soviets reportedly pulled back across the East German border.
Dr Dean E. Sheldon of Sandusky formerly of Norwalk died this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital. Quick Funeral Home at 617 Columbus Ave will announce funeral arrangements.
Sam Landes of London Ohio House member and agriculture industry and labor committee member will speak at the annual Industrial Exposition and Safety Awards banquet at 7 p.m. Thursday Sept 24 at the Elks Country Club. The event is co sponsored by the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and the Division of Safety and Hygiene of the Industrial Commission of Ohio.
