Lombard Scout Leader Accuses Turnpike Officers of Bribery
In a letter to Governor Rhodes a Lombard girl scout leader alleges two Ohio Turnpike policemen accepted bribes to assist a crippled bus from Norwalk toward repairs. Turnpike Patrol and Commission say they will launch a full inquiry into the charges. Mrs. R. W. Roberts described a breakdown on the Turnpike between Norwalk Sandusky and Vermilion Valley Plaza with smoke seen from the rear of the bus.

Greenwich George W. Brown 55 of 73 Town send Street died at Mercy Hospital Toledo from injuries after a Friday night two car crash on Route 224 in Ashland County. Brown was treated for a scalp laceration at Samaritan Hospital then moved to Willard Municipal and Mercy. Brown was driving west when a truck driven by William Green passed and the collision caused his car to leave the road hitting trees and a highway marker. Myers Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Suspended Willard Officer Returns As Appeal Schedules Shift
Willard patrolman Charles Lindsay resumed duties after a 15 day suspension that ended at midnight. He will pursue an appeal though the hearing was postponed to a later date. City Manager Keith Armstrong left town due to his father’s death. Lindsay was suspended August 25 for two rule violations.
