Comanche Plane Marks Third Zoellner Flying Generation
Comanche Pilot Bill Zoellner, 18, earned his private license at Lorain County Airport in a 1964 Piper Comanche, the same model flown by his uncle John Zoellner and grandfather William F Zollener to qualify for licenses. He began flying with his father Ron at five, has logged over 1,000 hours, and soloed a glider at 14 and a power-plane at 16. He hopes to become a commercial jet pilot and notes his family’s long aviation tradition, while joking about UFOs and the northern lights.
