A 10 year old boy was charged with arson for throwing a bottle with flammable liquid into the basement of Patrolman Donald Carey’s Oakland home. The fire caused about 4500 dollars in damage over the weekend.
A 76 year old Norwalk building on West Seminary Street is being remodeled by Urban Livengood Jr into modern offices and a private apartment. He plans full refurbishment as tenants arise, preserving features like a 12 foot ceiling and a brick fire wall corridor for utilities.
Fayette Road residents report two saucer shaped objects seen near 7 20 am by Mrs Howard G Barber. The silver objects remained stationary for five minutes then moved together before vanishing as the sun rose. Neighbors and family members corroborate sightings plus a recurring red night object sighting with a blue light cited by Mrs Barber and Miss Kovach.
Three observation balloons took off from Oberlin and landed along Butler Road near Wakeman. Two adults and a child were aboard the main craft, aiming to see how far they could travel, as two other balloons also touched down in the area.
