State Workers May Get Raises in Ohio Plan
Columbus reports a proposed salary schedule for state employees would raise pay and fringe benefits by about 7.5 percent, costing roughly 217 million dollars annually. The plan, backed by Richard Jackson, would cover all classified staff including those previously at maximum steps and those blocked by classification, with the state funding 100 percent of health insurance. The proposal awaits review by the State Employee Compensation Board, which will make recommendations by January to the governor and General Assembly.
