Norwalk Gun Incident Involves Four Youths And Trial

Four Norwalk youths skipping school faced negligent assault charges after a 13 year old girl was shot in a northside home. The bullet fractured bones in her right foot and a makeshift attempt to remove it with needles and a knife followed. She is in satisfactory condition at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital.

Greenwich Dog Still In Hunt

The American Coon Hunters Association world championship hunt narrows to 11 dogs after scratches. Tonight the 11 compete in two four dog casts and a three dog cast with winners advancing to Saturday’s finals.

Norwalk County Boys Home appoints new director

The Huron County Group Home for boys at Shady Lane in Norwalk named Dale Van Lerberghe 27 as director. He left Monroeville teaching to pursue administration, was hired Oct. 5 by Juvenile Court Judge Thomas Heydinger, and started his duties Thursday. He previously taught English, creative writing and driver's education since 1972 and is pursuing a masters in educational administration.

Monroeville Voters Approve Three Year School Levy

Monroeville residents vote 1116 for and 326 against a $245,000 per year operating levy to keep schools open, with 1,442 participating across precincts and Bronson 2 narrowly split. The result ends a brief recess and marks a large margin of approval.
