Welfare fraud probe uncovering $2 million in Ohio aid
State Auditor Thomas E. Ferguson reports nearly 2.1 million dollars in suspected welfare fraud from Ohio's 88 counties. A cross-check system matched welfare recipients with government employee retirees, revealing 825 suspected illegal ADC benefits cases and about 300,000 dollars in foster care mispayments. Further checks found 41,581 dollars in suspected illegal daycare program payments.
