Two Area Men Plead Guilty To Drug Trafficking
In Huron County Common Pleas Court two area men admitted trafficking charges. Roger Colyer, 20, of Willard, pled guilty to two counts of illegal sale of Marijuana and one count of selling cocaine for incidents in May, June and July, with sentencing set for November 3. Ronald Price, 22, of 128 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawful sale of marijuana and faces sentencing on November 3.

Restrooms Addition Proposed for NL Park Center
Norwalk area plans to expand Hileman Center at Recreation Park with an 18 by 70 foot addition to house restrooms first phase, plus a kitchen and storage in second phase. The project aims to support summer tournaments, travel-trailer visitors, and new programs such as fitness, bingo, square dances, and a youth center. Estimated cost about 9500 dollars. a 5000 dollar village loan is proposed to be repaid over five years. The Park Board seeks self-sufficiency, possibly via bingo profits, and will seek bids for a 14 to 20 horsepower garden tractor to replace an older 16 horsepower model.

Milan Electric Rates Up and Increase in Charges
The Milan Village Council approved higher electric rates effective November 15, raising the monthly customer charge to 3.60 and adding 0.07 per KWH for the first 100 KWH. Commercial and industrial rates also rose with energy and demand charges, plus a monthly cost adjustment. Council member Seiling will discuss safety issues in a closed session, and part time officers are now extending hours to maintain near 24 hour coverage.
