Frost Sparks Cautious Hope For Fall Crops Across Ohio

Frost touched the region with temperatures around the mid 30s to high 20s, prompting growers and residents to assess damage while predicting a warming trend ahead. Cabbage broccoli and cauliflower favor the chill as apples may ripen with cold nights, and Toledo hit 29 degrees tying a long time record. Residents reported plant prep for frost and most vegetables showed no significant damage. The forecast calls for showers midweek with highs in the 60s and overnight lows in the 40s to 50s.
