Norwalk Planners Seek Rezoning of Annexed 20 Acre Parcel

The Norwalk Planning Commission asked Tuesday night to rezone 20 acres east of Old State Road and south of Townsend Avenue from residential to commercial for a Farm Bureau elevator, retail store, and a proposed bowling alley. The Dunns who annexed the land last summer own eight acres and plan townhouses. The panel suggested B 2 or B 3 zoning to cover the Farm Bureau facility while noting grain elevators are not listed in the code. The commission also urged passage of an ordinance to hire an engineering firm for sewage treatment plant improvements.
