Clarence A. Willier Jr., 34, was injured when his car slid past a stop sign at Halfway Road and Johnson Road, struck a tree, and stopped 20 feet south of the intersection. The State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

OSU Band to Play Sandusky Concert Night Before Michigan Clash
The Ohio State marching band will perform in Sandusky at Jackson Junior High on Friday Nov 19 in a pre Michigan game event. About 2000 tickets go on sale. The band dates to 1879 and aims to make one non Columbus appearance yearly.

Court Allows Lawyer to Withdraw From Brown Appeal
The Sixth District Court of Appeals granted Toledo attorney John J. Callahan permission to withdraw from representing convicted murderer John W. Brown in his appeal. Callahan said no basis for an appeal could be found in Brown's trial record. Brown, 44, of Bellevue, is serving life for the 1969 shooting death of William Famulare in Bellevue. The panel said Brown's contentions were not arguable and without merit. Judges John Potter, Clifford F. Brown and Frank W. Wiley concurred.

Joe N. Stevens, 22, of New London, was arrested Wednesday on a bad check charge. He allegedly wrote a $160 check dated April 29, 1970 to Bob Meyer Chevrolet, Norwalk, on Savings and Loan Banking Co. in New London. The charge was filed September 30.
