A barefoot gunman held up to 10 hostages at a Manhattan bank and demanded 10 million dollars in gold and Patricia Hearst's release. Three hostages remained at gunpoint when arrested. seven were released, two for beer and roast beef.
Seven noted firearms experts concluded there was no second gun fired in the Kennedy case, affirming that Sirhan B. Sirhan alone shot Kennedy and submitted findings to a Superior Court judge. Separately, W T Grant & Co disclosed plans to cut about 13,000 jobs and close 225 stores as part of a restructuring, with a plan due by October 15.
