Urbanites want to leave cities over crime survey shows
A Gallup survey for the National League of Cities finds about one third of urban residents would move from their cities if given the chance. Crime is named as the main reason, with higher-income, educated residents most likely to consider relocation, while older, less educated residents are less likely to move. An exception cited is low income Black residents showing higher willingness to move than low income whites. President Carter was slated to address urban policy at the convention.
